⚠ Heads Up! To keep our prices as low as possible, we only charge a small deposit online. The remaining balance is paid in cash on the day of service. This helps us avoid high processing and banking fees in Costa Rica, which can reach up to 33% depending on local regulations and financial institution charges. All our prices are in USD.
If you have a return transfer with us later in your trip, please remember not to spend all your cash, as you will need it for the balance of the final service.
We strongly recommend obtaining USD in cash before your service to avoid additional currency exchange costs. Of course, we also accept local currency (Costa Rican COLONES).
For security reasons, we do not make stops at ATMs in Costa Rica during the transfer, so please plan accordingly.

La Fortuna SPREAD OUT
Just a quick note: La Fortuna is a very spread-out area, with some hotels located 30–45 minutes from town. This means the price may vary depending on the exact location. Do you already have the hotel names? Places like The Springs, Tabacón, Le Château, and the Observatory Lodge are quite far and usually have an additional cost
Regarding the Taxi-Boat-Taxi vs. Private Van:
While the Taxi-Boat-Taxi sounds like a scenic sightseeing tour on paper, it is important to keep in mind that it is ultimately a shared shuttle service. This means your total travel time will include driving around to pick up other passengers at various hotels in Monteverde, and then making multiple stops to drop people off at different hotels once you arrive in La Fortuna. Hauling luggage on and off the boat with a group can also be a bit tiring.
For a family like yours, we highly recommend the Private Van Service around Lake Arenal. It is much more comfortable, convenient, and tailored to your schedule. You won’t have to wait for other passengers, and we can make stops along the way! We usually stop at La Macadamia, a famous restaurant and lookout point where you can stretch your legs, use the restroom, grab a great snack, and take beautiful family photos of the lake at your own pace.
