Policy

Limitations of Liability

While SJO Shuttle cannot be held responsible for delays caused by factors such as weather, road conditions, traffic, or mechanical issues beyond our control, we do empathize with the challenges passengers face. In the event of flight delays occurring on the scheduled day of pick-up, rest assured, we will wait for passengers to arrive. However, any expenses incurred due to delayed departures or arrivals, missed flights or travel connections remain the responsibility of the passenger.

Payments

  • Down Payment: A small down payment (approximately 30%) via PayPal is required to secure reservations. We will send a PayPal money request; no PayPal account is needed.
  • Remaining Payment: The balance is paid in cash to the driver upon drop-off.
  • Full Online Payment: If you prefer to pay the full amount online, there is an additional $11 fee. This transaction must be completed 5 days prior to the transfer.
  • Late Pick-Ups: An additional $10 fee applies for pick-ups between 8:30 pm and 5:30 am.

Cancellation Policy

  • Refundable: Reservations canceled more than 2 business days prior to the scheduled pick-up time will be refunded.
  • Non-Refundable: Cancellations made less than 2 days before pick-up are not refundable.
  • Updated Policy (Effective February 1st, 2024): Reservations canceled more than 3 days prior to the scheduled pick-up time will be refunded. No refunds for cancellations made less than 3 days prior. All refunds will consider commissions and costs incurred.

Privacy

All personal information collected for reservations is kept confidential and is only shared with those directly involved in providing the requested services.

Passenger Safety

Passenger safety is our highest priority. Drivers have the right to deny service or de-board any person deemed unruly, disruptive, or a safety threat.

Lost Items

Passengers are responsible for their belongings. While we strive to return left-behind items, we assume no liability for lost, stolen, or damaged items. Any costs to return items are the owner’s responsibility. Double-check all your belongings upon reaching your destination.

Gratuities

Gratuities are not included in most shared-ride airport rates but are appreciated by our drivers.

Additional Information

  • Private Transfers: These offer convenience and flexibility, with the van exclusively for your group. You can request multiple stops during the trip. Naturalist guides are available.
  • Vehicle Capacity: Private transportation prices are based on a Toyota Hiace or similar (up to 12 passengers) and a Toyota Coaster or similar (up to 18 passengers) for comfort and safety.
